Wow what a way to celebrate a 70 deg St. Pat's day.
Our crew at work did Murph at lunchtime:
"Murph"
1 mile Run
100 Pull-ups
200 Push-ups
300 Squats
1 mile Run
I hit the same time as Jan 1st (~48 minutes). We did pull ups on tree branches which made them significantly harder to do fast. Also the run was on our hilly track at work, as opposed to Jan 1st indoors on a treadmill.
After work, a few Stark Velo members got together to ride the southern route that will be one of our normal Tuesday night team ride routes. It hits roads south of Canton into Bolivar, Strasburg and back. The ~37 mile ride has quiet a few significant climbs. Out of the 5 of us in the ride, Dave Novak and I were the two that did Murph at lunchtime. I think I can speak for Dave that our legs were screaming at us on each climb as we tried desperately to keep up with the 3 others.
I'm hoping tomorrow's workout is strictly an upper body workout. Knowing CrossFit, I wouldn't place any bets on that.

Matt, you mean to tell me that you can really do 100 pull-ups at once? That's impressive my friend...
ReplyDeleteThe 100 pullups are mixed in with the 200 pushups and 300 squats. But, yes I have done workouts with 100 pullups in a row (rest breaks as needed) and it takes about 10 minutes. I could not do anywhere near that many prior to starting crossfit in Dec '08.
